In essence, you are saying the company should let the attackers win. That the attackers got to determine the direction and timetable of the company, and should be allowed to do so until the investigation that their false allegations incited is completed.

I am so thankful that the CEO is continuing to fight for cancer patients and to bring these trials forth on as timely a basis as possible. No one can predict what the market is going to do or not do, and quite a number of prognosticators are saying that worse times are ahead, not better. The fact that the board assured the company of resources to weather whatever storms may lie ahead is prudent. If they had waited and the market became even more precarious, the company might have to close their doors or consider a vulture option.

Their actions demonstrate confidence in their technology, even if the market is not reflecting that confidence yet. Without resources, what little support there is would become nil.
