The Question Is: Is VFIN A Seller Or Short?
I would think a seller because perhaps they are selling for Ironridge. However the problem to this theory is that a seller would want the most for their shares. Any trader with the mental acumen of a rat can see that there is now buying interest, so why would VFIN want to sell now rather than let the stock get bid up and sell for higher prices?
The other scenario is that VFIN is a short, which I do not find plausible. Tinkering with a share price this small could spell disaster if the position took off to the upside, so it does not make sense. If in the event VFIN is shorting for whatever reason, a strong buyer could blow this up and make them capitulate, resulting in much higher prices (which I have outlined before).
You can Google VFIN and naked shorting to find all sorts of interesting results of cases they have been involved in.
