I initially balked at Sanders proposal to put a 0.5% tax on each stock trade to fund free college, but, it would certainly seem to put the kabash on high frequency computer (wash) trading. Assuming it is meant to apply to hedge funds.

I get pretty active sometimes but if I make 5 trades in a day that's a lot. So it wouldn't really affect a retail trader that much...
