From my Facebook today, thought I'd share with my friends here. I would love to hear your viewpoints and counter-opinions.
To all my friends: Please listen to my short lecture, I know economics well, have degrees to show it and I study it every single day (I know, what a geek). To be blunt: Our economy is in shambles, far worse shape than it was during the great crash of 2008 and far far worse than the government (Reps and Dems) are telling us, we are teetering on the edge of a great collapse and I believe we are at the very beginning of this calamity. This is incredibly serious in my opinion.
6-8 months ago I sold all of my stocks and went to cash and I have been investing in precious metals (never buy paper gold/silver, only buy physical metals) for years and I buy every month. As I type this the stock market is down ANOTHER 300 points today, gold is up $60 an ounce and silver is up another 3% today. The stock market has lost close to 15% so far this year, this is the worst start to any year in the history o the United States! EVER! Silver and gold are both up for the year and are heading higher.
I am not telling anyone what to do but I do recommend that you get with your financial planner and rebalance your portfolio. One thing about Financial Planners and TV pundits to beware of, and i have a Certificate in Financial Planning, they are eternal optimists and will always tell you to stay the course...take that advice with a grain of salt and do some self study...my big point is now is the time to take an active role in your investments...ask questions, study the global economy because it affect us in a big way, and become actively involved in your investment decisions.
In my opinion. we are at the very beginning of a global economic collapse that dwarfs anything that anyone alive today has ever seen. Be ready. Trillions of dollars have been lost already this year, this is just the beginning. I believe the collapse will happen in 2016 and continue through 2020 and beyond. Hundreds of millions of 401K investors are going to lose everything, tens of trillions of dollars will be lost by the rich and the middle class and this money will be gained by those very few people that are prepared. This will be the greatest transfer of wealth in human history.
Sorry to go for so long but this is a very serious topic. I would love to answer any questions or even debate anyone with different viewpoints. Most importantly, I want my friends to be prepared for what is happening to our global economic system.
