Oh yes but we are now living and trading a market that responds positive only to the "prospect" of eventual earnings and profit. Gone are the days where "actual" profit and dividends growth matter.

It's all about guidance and projections. Actual "real" profit doesn't matter. Furthermore, god forbid a segment of a diversified business contracts slightly, while every other segment flourishes and grows.

Irrational, Schizophrenic market. I suggest the "Costanza" methodology for investing in this market. Do the opposite of every gut instinct you have.
