then I would say that you have good eyes :$)

That's funnier than you could know...really funny.

you see, I was legally blind for nearly five years. Four surgeries and fifteen years later I drive (legally) and read my smart phone and computer screen without glasses for the most part.

Vision challenges taught me one thing above all others:I learned the importance of letting go of external proofs and looking within myself in a search for knowledge leading to self-reliance.

Memory capability expanded exponentially, especially when it came to retaining sets of numbers. Because vision aids made it possible for me to see large print for a few minutes at a time before having to rest my eyes for twenty-thirty minutes, I had to adapt. I did so by memorizing everything I could cram into my feeble brain. What seemed an impossibility rapidly turned into a simple mind-set trick. And the process gave me a confidence few can understand.

Today, about 15 years later, profits continue to mean a lot but not in terms of having money to buy things. For me it's being able to beat the odds and survive even the most severe of losses---and continue in life without feeling like a victim.

NPR is a wonderful news feed I explore daily---National Public Radio.

There's another NPR I like also---No Pity Required. It's my other flag. lol
