JL - Come on. I'm entitled to at least one conspiracy theory per year, aren't I? As long as I have your eye, I wanted to ask you about your recent DES post. You said that Vascepa reduced your DES problem along with other issues, but did you start the Vascepa specifically for the DES? And how did you come to believe that Vascepa would solve the problem? Is there a mechanism of action that explains what it does? The reason I ask, is I have had lasik twice and most recently (2015) torn/detached retina surgery, a cataract surgery resulting from the retina surgery and then a follow up retina surgery to remove some scar tissue from the original tear/detachment and surgery. All of the so called anti-inflammatory eye drops have created more DES problems than I had pre-lasik, and am having to add artificial tears multiple times a day. I want to suggest a Vascepa prescription if it will help with with the DES and potentially the persistent inflammation in the back of the eye, but I wasn't sure if my ophthalmologists would dismiss my request. So, is there a simple way to say what I need to say?
