I’m sure that there are some drill sergeant types within our forces that would welcome the opportunity to behavior-modify cretins such as this.
A few points though:
This should be a longer-term sentence. The alleged perpetrators' sentences would be completed when their instructors felt that they had been rehabilitated thus *earning* release. This should get around those who would be there under duress, but not wish to participate. Who knows, perhaps with a bunch of discipline under their belts, some would wish to join the regular military.
Separating the miscreants from the regulars would be important.
We wouldn’t wish that the jerks could influence any of the good guys from their chosen course. Neither would we wish for the possibility of a good guy getting into trouble for… uhmmm… *practicing* hand to hand combat training with a less-desirable during an off-training time period. <g>
My 23 YO son graduated from Canada’s “Boot Camp” last November.
Even though the candidates are carefully screened and have to pass physical fitness requirements, out of 60 students starting in his class, 39 graduated after 11 weeks. One or more did not graduate due to injury, and were transferred to a new class when physically able.
