That doesn't matter, patents can be sold or licensed to other companies for very little up front. Could be penny's or dollars on each part sold in the future. So lets say the patent tool sells 1 million copies, the original patent holder may get .10cents per million and so on....

Its not that big of deal! It's a contract that is good as long as the patent is inforced and watched over, anything short of 20 years.
