I disagree I highly doubt someone gives cespedes more then 6 years. In fact I think that is what he will get I would be more comfortable with 5, but I think he get 6/125-130 when it all said and done. Which isn't ridiculous considering the guy did have 83 xbh last year and is only 30.

The question I have is will the mets bother bidding on him or will they not spend any more money. If they really went all out for the fan base they would trade duda and sign both davis and Cespedes, and get and bullpen arm that is pretty good for duda. And guess what their payroll would be 130- 135 million which is not absurd for a ny team, and their the only team I know whose payroll has gone down since like 2007-2008 peak of 150 million despite making tons off the TV heck even KC spends a ton now. So forget the perfect world all I'm asking for is the real world that for a second they need to get me one big bat, whether that is davis, Cespedes, or Upton I don't care, although cespedes fits the need as he can play CF. Which is why I prefer cespedes for this team.

I don't think mets fans are being unreasonable when they asking for them to spend more they did last year. They certainly got more money through all those home playoff games, and merchandise being sold. Now with cuddeyer coming off I will be unhappy with this offseason if they don't bring in a good bullpen arm and a big bat. At the end of the day there is no reason not to compete now.

And I get the cubs have their appeal, but so do the mets with having the one of the best young starting pitching staff in baseball, lets not make that being in NY with a great young pitching staff is something that isn't attractive to any FA if they pay them, mets have their appeal, with another big piece or two they are a serious contender, as is they are the overwhelming favorite to win the division. I mean if the mets did what they should they would be and overwhelming favorite to win it all, but management and ownership will refuse to do that, heck they will probably refuse to do what is reasonable. And bring cespedes and clippard back is reasonable in my opinion.

---All above is just my humble opinion.
And I could always be wrong.
And as always do your own DD.---
