You are correct, "yet". As they get thinner and thinner, they will eventually have to. As they move to induction charging and your phone is always fully charged as you are always in the presence of an induction energy source, the battery size will be decreased significantly. The phone thickness will continue getting thinner and thinner.

Hence, 7000 series aluminum may not suffice
