Partnership Speculation & Logic


I very much suspect that Anavex is either on the cusp of closing or has already closed a partnership agreement with "Big Pharma."

Why?

The data to this point is outstanding, as is the safety profile. Furthermore, additional possible indications reveal FAR MORE than just new markets, they suggest a medication that targets the very basis of protein folding disorders through an anti-inflammatory effect that's mediated at the level of the mitochondria. This could essentially be the "Aspirin" to the pathology of multiple processes. It only requires success of 1 of any of the three major diseases of which this drug shows therapeutic promise, and it's a multi-billion dollar bonanza. The upside grows exponentially if it "hits" on more.

Therefore, if I were an aggressive, thoughtful pharmaceutical strategist, I'd certainly want to "hedge my bets," get my foot in the door," "earn some loyalty," with Anavex. It diminishes the risk of an outright buyout, but keeps the possibilities open, and more importantly, excludes other pharmaceuticals.
