Great to see you getting involved. Obviously I was in buy-mode today. And I've got a stink-bid waiting for the morning's opening with 500 shares to be bought at $4.85. I think there's chance of it going through but not better than 50/50. Tempering my enthusiastic expectation is finding that after-hours trades tacked on a nickel, if I recall. Sellers' remorse may be alive and well in which case I could believe a significant retracement out of the chute on the morrow...perhaps in the 25-30 cent range.
It was absolutely crazy for this to drop as it did today. I was just combing through the latest quarterly report that came out around a week ago. It's a good read and will go far in calming any fears a potential investor might have. The backlog of contracted work is really awesome. It's especially significant inasmuch as these contracts were drawn while the oil glut due to fracking was already in full swing and increasing. So it's not like these contracts will be rescinded as the players knew very well all circumstances involved. Too, these are contracts between our company and governments. These are solid deals and it is rare that they would be reeled back in with the company left holding the bag.
Closing thought:
It was never my intention to get rich on this single company's stock. If I can produce a 50 cent profit in a couple of months, I'll consider myself fortunate. I'm holding 7,500 shares of MDR. If I were to put 6,000 shares up for grabs at just $5.98 which I think is doable in a few months, that would represent a $6,000 gain inasmuch as my cost basis is $4.98. If I could do this a few times in the year, say three times? I'd be bringing in $18,000 on this one pick. And if I had to settle for 50 cents it would be $9,000. Either way it is a splendid return on a company I find deserving of my trust.
Also, several of our members on this board including myself believe this stock will see substantial gains over the next year to two years with a target of $12 if not more. So when I attempt to calculate future worth, I need to consider investors' sentiment and rank their views as equal to my own.
So there you have it.
