Susie924, they may have been in worse shape by numbers, but they are in much worse shape this year overall. Last year they had Shefield and Matsui, Now they don't. They also put Cano on the DL I think. Johnson is not looking good see yesterday's performance to see how much confidence you should have. Chacon hasn't pitched well. Farnsworth is not as good as Gordon. Toronto is much better this year. Detroit has the best record in baseball, and the wildcard most likely is coming from the central. Boston is simply a better team. A-rod is having a down year from last year so far. There bullpen is weak, and Rivera seems to be in a lot more games then last year, would be worried about him, if he keeps going for these multiple inning saves. The fact of the matter is the only team from NY, that will make the playoffs this year is the Mets (Good Guys), and the rest of us will not have to see the Braves and the Yankees in the post season this year, what a joy that will be. The Yankees could still make it, but I can't believe I'm saying this they are the underdog to make it. Detroit, White Sox, and Red Sox all have better pitching then the Yankees, and pitching wins, so I don't anticipate them making the playoffs. Could be wrong on this, but the chances of the Yankees making the playoffs this year aren't very good in my opinion. Granted I could always be wrong though.

---All above is just my humble opinion.
And I could always be wrong.
And as always do your own DD.---
