imagine someone takes control, then offers to buy out all shares at say $8 and takes company private( hypothetical scenario). Forward 3 years, as work goes on, and let us say the drug is approved by FDA and it does work as intended - then the folks sell the whole company to big pharma for 50 - 75 billion.

where are you in the billions deal - no where... you had to offer your shares for a pittance.
