It has everything to do with it. If as is being touted here that MVTG has a self-sustaining package from C02 all the way through to energy storage and utilization then amount of formates you can produce and the cost and MTBF of your catalyst system make all the difference in the world as you try to scale up to industrial size process.If your feedstock supply is tons/day and your only proven system is a small 100kg/day or week (no hard data given by MVTG as far as I know) then you are a long ways from commercial use. And please don't go with the "just daisy chain a couple thousand small units together until you get the throughput as high as you want" route. The only proof for MVTG succeeding is when they show real verifiable data at industrial scale for long enough to know it works. Having a large corp. interested in your invention isn't proof of that. Even if they spend what seems like a lot of money to us, it's peanuts for them.
