(OT) sort of; Heard an interesting little tidbit on a radio talk show last night.

1) 6 out of 10 Americans are on one or more prescription medications.
2) Zocor (Simvastatin, MERCK) is the top selling drug in America. I don't think the hosts had it right though. They estimated that Zocor brought in an estimated $24+ million per day. How can that be? Wikipedia says there is generic Zocor available. I could not verify any of the data put out. But man, that is a lot of moolah $$$$..... 365*$24M = $8.76B revs. That can't be right....

I believe #1 (we are a pill popping society) but find #2 hard to believe.
