Update (not good/not bad) and hearing thursday: Creditors Raise Concerns with Alpha Mine Sales -- Market Talk
DOW JONES & COMPANY, INC. 9:42 AM ET 11/3/2015
9:42 ET - Creditors are lining up to express concern with Alpha Natural's bid to sell more than a dozen idled mines in several states as part of its Chapter 11 case. The miners' union, as a key constituent, wants a role in the process and union-related health and pension funds want to be sure any sales don't erase Alpha's obligations to them. Meanwhile, bond insurers want to keep an eye on the debt Alpha posted as a condition of its mining permits and those who lease land and equipment to Alpha want to make sure any sales don't threaten their rights. A bankruptcy judge will review the sale request and creditor concerns at a hearing Thursday.
