The printer has a USB connection...

There are two USB ports on the back of the computer and two more on the front, right side.

Does it matter if I tell the computer that I'm using COM1, COM2, COM3 or COM4 port?

Still seems like I downloaded the software to a zip file TO my computer and I did decompress the files, but I never got to where I installed the software.
