Maybe. But IBM is using HTT on the companion chip for the 970, so they need to do this anyway. In addition, I suspect that this router is an integrated version of their Colony SPSwitch that they've used in many other projects. So it's not a totally new design.

However, it is true that the product run for this chip is going to be pretty limited.
