NL teams don't go out and pay somebody $6-12 million to be a pinch hitter, just so they'll be able to use him as a DH in 15 games a season. Therefore, in DH interleague games, the AL team will most surely have a better hitter as their DH than the NL team.

For example: In games played with the DH this year, the Cubs primarily used John Mabry and Todd Walker in the DH slot. They hardly stack up with guys like Jim Thome, Travis Hafner, and David Ortiz (to name just a few).

fwiw, the job I'd least like to have on a major league team would be as a bench player that's NOT the primary DH on an AL team. I'd never get any AB's. The Tigers, for example, as a team had exactly 14 PH AB's all season going into last week's series with the Cubs, and the guy with the MOST PH AB's on the team had a total of 3.
