RE: Ortiz and defense

After going back and checking his defense while in Boston he has actually done very well. Other than last year when he committed four errors in ten games he has done very well. Suprisingly, in a small sample of only five games this year, he has a better zone rating than Youk or Snow.

2003 45 games played .992 F%
2004 45 games played .986 F%
2 games in World Series 1.000 Fielding %
2005 10 games played .976 F%
2006 5 games played 1.000 F%

So one could argue that 2005 was flukeishly bad only over ten games and is pretty darn good the other years, so the idea of Ortiz being bad defensively is a myth.
