For those that are impressed by the use of a Niton, please research how it works. The beam width is pretty damn tiny, and pointing it a little spot of green copper oxide will certainly give you a multi-percent copper result. It says nothing about the composition of an entire outcrop. There is really no need to even waste the time to use a Niton on a blob of copper oxide staining - you know what you will get. The only reason might be to determine if there are any other significant metals present (Ag, Mo, etc.)
