Well, There were a positives there worth noting. Whilst there wasn't a lot of money currently in the bank there are provisions to gain more. Especially, after the launch if required.
The line you referred to regarding profit is a standard line for companies in R&D stage although, that is expected to change soon. it would be ridiculous to make a profit prediction without launching the card. I'm sure that will come in time.

SmartMetric has completed development of its card and is now in the final stages of preparations for mass manufacturing. The Company is scheduled to have its first mass manufactured cards produced by the end of October 2015. The SmartMetric biometric payments card, due to exposure in specialty trade publications and numerous press releases, is receiving much interest in the banking and payments card sector.
