The company simply needs to issue a statement that data was presented at a meeting. If there was no new data, they can say so. It wouldn't be difficult to fill in the PR so as to make it seems somewhat relevant. It might be a bit of fluff, as Rod would say, but it would address the issue of investors who follow this company closely feeling neglected.
