how many times do you knock on the same door threatening legal action? The poor BD and licensing guys get met by an army of lawyers even when they do go to visit potential technology and business partners…. all it takes is the name "Interdigital" to be mentioned

How many infringement notices do you think the company has sent out? 10s? 100s? I would lean to the 100s through the years…more recently they were more conscious of the environment of being accused of being a "troll" though… and the results of litigation haven't proven to be as effective as it once may have been…..so it's fairly stagnant….even existing licensees challenging payment.

As I've said for years…. it's a business decision by these entities. Does the cost of litigation outweigh the benefit of paying for a license? If they don't think the terms or the business benefit is great enough or not appropriate…. or they can twist the legal/regulatory systems to their benefit… it then waits for IDCC to take legal action. In the mean time with open threats of litigation...the reputation of Interdigital sits in a bad place.

Sell it… go private… do something different. The bag of Fuller brushes needs new business terms or a better value proposition for the licensing people to be more successful … with a limited set of potential customers.
