Several of the key launch partners had qualified their systems on Solectron's board (that Intel extorted Solectron into not shipping) which resulted in a 1 to 2 month delay for system availability.

It also vaulted Arima/Rioworks from a tier 3 motherboard maker (no-name OEM contractor) to a tier 1 (international brand name) just about overnight.

By daring to violate Intel's decree that AMD servers be limited to 6 DIMMs (their server boards) and AMD desktop notebooks not be allowed to have high end screens (the widescreen Athlon notebooks they OEM for eMachines) Arima has been able to experience profit growth in an overall down market.
