What is this? Little League?
This is worth a chuckle...unless you're an Indians fan.
Last night...top of the 3rd...runners on 1st & 3rd...nobody out...C.C. Sabathia pitching. Phil Nevin hits a one-hopper to Ben Broussard at 1st. Broussard throws the ball to the catcher. The runner on 3rd holds, and everybody is safe. Bases now loaded...still nobody out. Matt Murton hits a two-hopper right at Ron Belliard at 2nd. Belliard looks home, looks to 2nd, and just stands there holding the ball. The runner at 3rd scores, and everybody else is safe. Bases still loaded...still nobody out. Both plays are ruled fielder's choices, and no errors are charged. Two batters later, Ronnie Cedeno hits a lazy fly to left for the first out...which should have been the third out, with two runs at the most scoring in the inning. However, as the rest of the inning actually happened, the Cubs scored 8 runs on 6 hits, one walk, and those two FC's. And all of the runs are EARNED!!!!!! Poor C.C. Sabathia.
