I am sorry to have to disagree with you. The Rays can match up fairly decently with speed and some offense, but they are no where near the quality in arms of the Red Sox, Toronto and New York.

They need a lot deeper pitching staff and bullpen. They probably need at least one or two more bats.

I like them and will be going to see them again Saturday, but to be honest they are still far from being competitive with Boston and New York.

I do think they have a shot to finish ahead of Baltimore and if they have a post all-star break like last year they could even get close to Toronto, who I still expect to fall back.

Despite getting some very good players in the draft the last few years they have not really developed pitching the way they should have.
