"The reason being that posters who are straight shooters can be received poorly even when they are posting factual information."


That is why I insist on listing members who choose to ignore a particular poster. If a known Shorter is ignored mostly by members who have the tendency for being Long then we can dismiss this as being partisan bias. But if that same member is ignored by both, Longs and Shorts, then we know that that may be a problem poster.
