I am not on margin, never have been. Yet my money is totally frozen in etrade now. They are violating their own terms of service which clearly state they can hold funds etc but they need a court order/tax lien/order from regulator etc, and none of those have happened! FINRA did not tell them to do it, they did it on their own which is obvious simply because other brokers have not done it. A blatant violation but since I am poor, I have no realistic recourse that can do anything in a sane amount of time.

If people shorted and now just don't want to pay, then too bad for them. Pay the heck up and shut up about it.
