Well, for Chicago Baseball, The Sox are THE SHIT! They have a trophy in this century! They won with a balanced team to boot! Disappointment? MY TEAM WON THE SERIES within the last 10 years! Not to mention, it is the time honored Cubs Slogan, "wait til next year!" Which has now morphed into, "Wait til Next Century!"
As far as what they need, first and foremost, Ventura needs to go! Abreu is a little power at 1st? Anyway, that is not the point!
The point was, if The Cubs really do want to win, they will have to trade some of the young swing and miss talent for more reliable hitters that can get on and have some speed. Not saying they need a tear down, but some targeted moves and with the young talent they would be trading, they would get a heck of a haul back! I gave you one for instance that I believe could actually take them much closer to contention next year by trading Baez and Schwarber for Dee Gordon and some of the Marlins young talent. Do you disagree and why if you do?
