Though it may amount to heresy to go there, I fully agree with your position.
A R/S from a position of strength is no sin.
Some recovery time should be allowed, but if the news or development is extremely strong, this need not be a factor in recovering to pre-split levels.
I've had and am currently holding stocks that have gone both ways after a R/S . All depends on strength and timing. I'm all for a healthier share structure if at all possible.
