Enyaw re alert for amended 10Q exhibits

From a quick review, it appears that IDCC amended two exhibits re Ericy and Sony/Ericy from the original first quarter 2003 10Q filed exhibits. Without comparing these revised Ericy and Sony/Ericy exhibits to the original exhibits, my preliminary thoughts re clarifications in the revised contract exhibits as follows:

(1) the effective date for the current part of the contracts with Ericy and Sony/Ericy is January 1, 2003. This was not clear initially, because I had originally thought the current contract was not effective until March 2003, the date the contracts were signed.

(2) the past part of the settlement portion is clearly segregated between prior to 2001 and for 2002 re both Ericy and Sony/Ericy. This segregation for the past periods was not clear in the initially filed exhibits.

(3) EDGE is definitely one of the covered standards for both Ericy and Sony/Ericy. Some of the previous documents and press releases specified that EDGE was covered under the license agreements, while some did Not. All TDMA-based 2G, 2.5G, 2.75G, and 2.8G standards are covered. None of the 2G, 2.5G CDMA standards are covered, nor is any 3G standard covered, except for EDGE. EDGE is sometimes referred to as 2.75G standard and sometimes as a 3G standard.

(4) This portion of the 2G through 2.8G TDMA-based covered standards will be considered paid-up after 2006 for Ericy and Sony/Ericy, provided that appropriate royalties are paid for these standards from 2003 through 2006. I think that this was stated in the original exhibits, but there had been some confusion on this point.
