There's a difference in what happened to the two stocks you mentioned. TPIV was pumped by the traders' gangs and just as quickly fell back to earth when they grabbed their profits (at the expense of the naive, and the less-quick traders) and ran.

CTIX has been torpedoed by what appears to be a well-funded shorting group. Many of us here are CTIX investors. I remain confident that the incredible science and pipeline that CTIX has will give me amazing financial returns someday, as well as alleviating human suffering in at least 2 or 3 distinctly different areas.

I also think that AVXL has an incredibly promising possibility here, especially because (as I have said here ad nauseam) they are the ONLY company that has shown promising data from NOT following the conventional wisdom, said "wisdom" having proved to be an abject failure.

HOWEVER: to think that AVXL is immune from the actions of the traders' gangs is just foolish. If someone posts an article filled with libelous, untrue allegations (as they did with CTIX) in concert with a shorters' gang, they could do the same thing to AVXL. Or if the traders' gangs pull out of their positions, the stock could fall (and then they'll appear here again, pumping away after they re-load).

I plan to hold tight to my AVXL core position, and I am NOT going to panic and sell if it goes down. I'm also not going to assume that it's going to be at 5 bucks in a couple of months -- as much as that would make me, and my account, happy. I'm in for the long haul.

Please don't call me a basher again, either, if you've been reading you know I've been presenting all kinds of stuff in support of this company.
