I try to keep in mind

1) I somehow always lose when I try to flip to gain more shares. Then I elevate risk in the future to start to catch up, and lose still more shares. It is a downward spiral. Been there more than once.

2) It is painful to miss out on a dip that foreshadowed itself, but it is far more painful to lose shares betting on a dip that reverses unexpectedly. And for me, they always do if I take that bet.
