These sites need to be near rail spurs and mains to both receive and transport larger quantities. Perhaps this was the reasoning for Taylor. Farms to the east and south. Feedstock to the north and west.
Also. The biomass input can be replaced with natural gas. So now they have a source of gas not depending on the fluctuations and as someone else said, the increasing demand of traditional NG sources.
Lastly this process is supposed to e on the order of carbon neutral. Remember the biomass is not burned... It is super heated and the resulting gases are captured to produce the end product.
