Buzz, you're right. No money yet but this is still a big step forward for materials development. Remember that Nature paper I posted last week? Lack of thermal and photochemical stability in those polymers appears to be a main reason why they haven’t been commercialized yet.

“Lightwave Logic has announced that in an attempt to induce changes in the photochemical structure of the Company's materials”…Sounds like they are trying to break it but it just won’t. I like that. I hope we don’t have to wait another 2 months for more news. 1,500 hours continuous photochemical testing is 62.5 days or October 7th.

“Oxygen free environment”, “Nitrogen environment”….what does this mean? Is this for testing consistency or is it still possible that our material doesn’t survive ambient conditions and our devices will actually need some packaging?

"This helps us understand more clearly the processing and manufacturing requirements of our future commercial products and gives us the initial assurances to expect the same results as we move these materials into an actual photonic device structures. We are happy to report that initial device testing has already begun using our silicon photonic chips."

I'd like to know more about all of that...maybe they can have a conference call soon while we wait for more results.
