I'm assuming I'm not the "old erratic poster " you are referring to .

I'm hetero FH and have discussed taking the PCSK9 with my Cardiologist .
His response is as follows.
Until we have Outcome data we will only consider prescribing the PCSK9's to our hetero FH patients who can not get their LDL cholesterol below 130 on max dose Statins ...and probably only then if they have had a prior event or we feel they are at very high risk of a CV event within the next 2-5 yrs.

My thoughts
For the non Hetero FH patient on Statins ....If there is no prior event and their LDL can be lowered below 100 on Statins alone ...no MD is going to prescribe them PCSK9's and no insurance company will pay for it.
