Porscha - Thanks for the great report on the 'Vette celebration. Would have given my left... little finger to see that!

I know the feeling I get of seeing just 2 or 3 of 'em together, or a club rally, etc. ....can't imagine seeing a whole field of 'em.

I've had a Camaro for years, and decided at the end of '01 to get a Z28 SS with the thought of it maybe being a collectors item somewhere down the line. But.... once I discovered I was about 10k or so short of a 'Vette, I couldn't get the 'Vette out of my mind.

Kept thinking about being just another old gray dude with a 'Vette, and one side of my brain was saying it's kinda impractical, lot of money, etc., but other side won out.... finally said who the hell cares, lol.

Didn't like the Z06 roof line, and suspension a little too firm for my tastes, so ended up getting a black on black '02 Coupe with everything. (Except ride control...everyone I talked to said it wasn't worth it)

Right after putting in the order I went to the parts dept. and bought the Z06 grills for the front, had them before the 'Vette was delivered, lol. Believe it or not, they're just velcro'd in. Would have cost a small fortune to take the front end off and do 'em right. As it is, they cost $75.00... each. Coulda gone to Home Depot and got the same mesh for around $5.00 total, lol.

Only other thing I've done is tint the rear window as dark as possible....Unbelievable what they do with that stuff nowadays. Can't see in at all, but I can see out, even with shades on, real good....put chrome letters on the back "Corvette" indentations, and a chrome plate with the 'Vette logo down between the exhaust tips.

Thinking of putting on a Borla exhaust to bring out the sound a bit more, <g> and a K & N air system.

Had it up to 151 so far, (with more to go but was running out of clear road) and if it wasn't for things rushing past pretty quickly, you'd never think you're going that fast. Brakes, steering, suspension all seem to adjust for the speed.

I used to think 'Vette owners were fanatic nuts, but I totally, completely understand now. Love that machine.
