Not sure what to think about the Sacramento news, need time to think. Just burns me up this liberal state wants free internet access to all it's people. Last time I checked Best Buy or Curcuit City, you still have to pay for your computor. Wonder if San Fan and Sacramento is going to give out free lap tops along with free access? If the low income people have money to by towers,laptops then belive me they have money to subscribe to a $30/mo service. They are doing it now with their cell phones and don't tell me they don't have one!
The deal was to give public services the access in turn for use of the city street lamps to create the Wi-Fi system, which is a fare deal. If your going to be trapped into providing free access to cities in order to win bids, I suggest only providing dialup speeds and offer for $$$ high speed service. Only way for businesses and share holds to see growth. Still debating this news but those are my current thoughts.
