For those who might be having problems connecting the dots (given the intelligence of the remaining denizens here, I doubt that there are many having that problem -- pretty savvy group of dudes), there was a post by one of the members that included the "term" POS (Portion of Sauerkraut, if you will). That post was deleted. Another similar post was deleted a week or so ago. At that time, I petitioned Admin for a ruling on the subject matter. He allowed as how as long as the term wasn't used in excess (and it certainly is NOT, on this board, anyway) he had no real problem with it. Shortly after that, I posted a brief history lesson as to the origin of the term "Ship High In Transit". I hope everyone got a look at it before it was, in fact, deleted. In further researching the Ship High In Transit story, I find it seems to be totally accurate. Hence, one of the more offensive (to some) terms in use by many folks happens to have roots that are very, very benign. Soooo, once again I petitioned Matt for a ruling on that post. He stated it was "Off Topic". I contacted him again to point out that I had prefaced the post with the "OT" -- didn't that account for anything? His response was that he really didn't care for Off Topic posts AT ALL.

I've been in PWTC for over 7 years no. Couldn't be happier with the state of affairs. Mr. Walter is doing a fine job. Elbee was totally misunderstood. History might canonize him at some point. I hope his life these days is comfortable.

So, where does that leave us? No more jokes, no more announcing of the delivery of grandchildren, no more death announcements, no more posting of other stocks that might be of interest to the fellow denizens, no posting of how great it is to be living in a community that doesn't cuss, spit, chew, smoke, fart or just about anything else that could be construed as "offensive" or un-PC. Welcome to The Stepford Wives, redux -- UNLESS -- somewhere in the content of the post, there is something On Topic that will be pleasing to the ear of the autocracy. Also, abbreviations should be spelled out, clear and concise, in order that there will be no further ruffling of delicate sensibilities.

You GO, Beej.

Thank you for your time.
