To all wannabe CRT designers...

To all of you who think the design of REDUCE-IT is flawed because of your own home cooked ideas on how much EPA is going to fix how much AA, I suggest you all sell your stock and move on to another situation.

It is insulting to a company who has shown a strength of character which has allowed them to sustain every hardship and find a remedy in every reversal of fortune.

REDUCE-IT is a $100 million plus endeavor. Crucial to the intended result of determining whether correcting AA/EPA ratios by adding EPA to the diet will significantly reduce CVD risk, is the daily dose of EPA.

The parameters principally concern the therapeutic range which is the dose likely to show results, but not likely to raise concerns, chiefly about bleeding. 4gms/day was the number settled on by the trial designers. IMO this is a good number. This will not deal with every contingency..If someone is drinking a quart of vegetable oil a day..well, good luck.

This may not get every R-IT enrollee in the active arm down to JELIS active arm levels. The CVD annual rate in the control arm for the whole of JELIS waas around 1%...The R-IT estimated control risk is over 5% if we dropped 5% down to JELIS levels it would be an 80% risk reduction..We don't need 80%..4 gms is likely to drop the AA/EPA ratio down to the 2 level which is fine...Raising EPA doses over 4gms could lead to bleeding.

I trust the company's ability to deal with the dosing requirement which jives very well with my DD...If you think it doesn't work guess you should short the stock or sell
