The application was beautiful. It's a pharmaceutical blister packaging line - 2 robots put on board to package the product into the blister units. Down side - those 2 robots took the place of anywhere from 6 to 12 packaging employees. The Upside; the efficiency of the line increased umpteen times (major ROI) and the process was documented, repeatable and flawless (something the FDA is certainly pleased with in those regulated environments) and don't worry - those 6 to 12 packaging employees were sent to other 'manned' packaging lines to further their experience and improve packaging efficiencies there, where they could.

The Pharmaceutical industry right now, unlike the automotive industry, is one in which there tends to be more 'flowing' capital available. Maybe this is a place they should concentrate some of their sales efforts. There are plenty of contacts out there - as well as plenty of industry magazines that IVHG could be advertising their "open architecture" solutions in.
