Apple (AAPL) reported Q2 EPS of $2.33, better than the analyst consensus of $2.16 per share on Capital IQ. Revenue was $58 billion, above the Street view of $56.1 billion.
For Q3, the company expects revenue in the range of $46 to $48 billion, in line with the Street view of $47.1 billion.
The company also said it approved a more than 50% increase to its capital return program for shareholders. Under the expanded program, Apple (AAPL) plans to use a cumulative total of $200 billion of cash by the end of March 017. The board increased its share buyback authorization to $140 billion from $90 billion.
The company also approved an 11% increase to its quarterly dividend, setting a dividend of $0.52 per share.
