I did plenty of DD, it seems most issues have been solved with BIOS updates.....there was a report of at least one going up in smoke with a pre-production version, but that has also been fixed via BIOS....(a voltage control issue, made worse when paired with a specific Corsair power supply that also had a firmware issue, and not shutting down when an overcurrent occured)...

BTW, since X99 is relatively new, many motherboards had growing pains of varying sorts....

LR isn’t the only site that has had a board go up in smoke as Michael Larabel over at Phoronix had an X99 board go up in smoke as well. He was not using the same brand of motherboard or power supply model, but to see X99 boards failing this early in the game is alarming.
