After reading the 'Liquidmetal® Alloys in Minimally Invasive Medical Devices' case study, "disposable" caught my eye.

Durability
A significant part of the performance that medical professionals rely on in a device is
its durability through its life of use regardless if it is a reusable or disposable device.

disposable reminded me of an article about an innovative company that is cutting costs by using molded lenses;

The nuvis Single-Use Arthroscope features 12 molded glass lenses compared with 32–56 expensive ground glass lenses typically used in reusable arthroscopes. These high-quality lenses are made with the same technology and low-temperature glass used to mass-produce high-definition, low-cost optics for smart phone cameras.

I can't find any BMG connection and i'm NOT saying they are or will be using BMG, its all just circumstantial and coincidence in timing, and Integrated Endoscopy is also located in Rancho Santa Margarita, but its encouraging to see companies using molded parts to improve on medical devices. Molded glass now, maybe molded lqmt latter, if not already :)
Key word is disposable, always need to replace, endless ongoing sales for endoscopic devices.
