With all the fakes in gold coins and bars they should and can have sensing pad on weighing unit with flipover transmitter point to gauge gold content, mass of, and by weight readout would show weight and gold percentage.

This move / technology advancement should be mandated by organizations... as gold demand will rise sharply when it can be verifiable as gold. No more trusting marks on bars or US coin claims. In fact more people will want pure gold then.
