In the biggest bank failure in history
The only problem is it wasn't an absolute failure, rather it was an absolute theft. Remember, WAMU wasn't really given the chance to fail...hence the Thursday night secret theft. Maybe they would have, maybe, if given the opportunity to sell itself it may have survived. We'll never really know because the regulators didn't even follow their own established policies and procedures here. They were afraid of what may have happened if they hadn't stole WAMU for Jamie.jmo
