JL and I have disagreed in the past over the threat of Dietary Supplements in this market . Omegia Via EPA 500 for example will market itself as something like "heart healthy " with 88% pure EPA ....for about $62 a month

BASF will do something similar in Europe ...and tie up a sizeable EPA raw material thru their production facilities.

The cost to health providers now for Vascepa is I believe about $120 for a 30 day supply ...perhaps some one ( Gabor ? ) can confirm actual cost . So once Amarins coupon expires ( end of 15 ) ..patients will be paying more and health providers may want higher co pays for Vascepa .

There are about 30m patients on Statins in the US . Should a large number of them want Vascepa it will inevitably drive up the cost to health providers...who will attempt to pass on cost to consumers ...who will seek alternatives .

Then theres even supplying the market you envision .
